Good functions, questionable build quality
Update: Soleus tech support crapped out on me, I got a techie respond to my initial email request about preparing a warranty claim and did not receive a response from them after emailing them a copy of the invoice. I would advise consumers NOT TO BUY SOLEUS PRODUCTS due to the lack of support and shoddy build quality.

I got this fan 11 months ago. The fan has good features and the remote feature is handy to have.
However the quality and customer service of Soleus leaves more to be desired. The fan arrived with a cracked motor housing, I contacted Soleus via email and no replies from them period. Now 11 months in the motor of the fan just died for no apparent reason, it still swivels but the fan blades are just stuck stationary with the motor humming. I have just contacted Soleus for a warranty claim, let's hope they respond this time...

Poor quality, terrible tech support - fan failed after only 3 months
3 months after purchasing this fan the unit fails to power on, whether using the remote or the push-button controls. This happened after a few days of inconsistent response to button pushes, and randomly blinking lights on the control panel. Seems very much like a wiring issue which makes the fan a potential fire hazard.
3 weeks of trying to get through to tech support (warranty is good for a year) with no response. I've emailed, gone through the website contact, called and left voice messages. Nothing.
I will avoid Soleus products in the future.

Fan Experience
The first fan I ordered came without a fan blade! At the time I was not sure of the return policy. It was too late for a return, so I ordered another fan just like it (both at the time were about $30 apiece with free shipping). Second fan went together quite easily and worked great. The fan was still a real bargain at the time.
PS-I have plenty of spare parts anyway.
