Sens-a-speed is the only good feature
The only thing to praise on this mower is the Sens-a-Speed system. It's so good I gave this mower two stars on the basis of that alone, although there's not a single thing I like besides that.
I've had my mower over a year now, and not one mowing episode has been trouble-free. From the first, the engine ran rough, the idle was extremely inconsistent, and it's been downhill from there. There's no throttle on this machine, and the engine runs so slowly it won't even cut. Adjusting the idle makes very little difference, and after one mowing season, I'm ready to give it away and buy the Honda I should have gotten in the first place. Lawn-Boy customer service was exceptionally unhelpful when I contacted them a week after receiving what I consider to be a lemon. Oh, and did I mention that the plastic wheels are broken too? I sincerely hope my experience is an exception and that other owners will be happy with their mower. I won't bet the second time on a loser so this is the first and last Lawn-Boy product in my shed. Ever. Period.
If you like to gamble, you should buy one. Otherwise, it's just not worth it.

Quick delivery, packaging could have been better. One small tear in the bag. LawnBoy is replacing it at no-charge.

New homeowner
Overall a pretty good mower. I grew up with lawn-boy mowers and decided to make this my first purchase as a homeowner. My wife can use this even though it's pretty heavy thanks to the self-propel feature. Starts very well every time. Four stars because the grip is already tearing off the handle halfway through the first season and when it was delivered the box was torn and the oil that came with the mower was punctured and all over everything in the box (instructions too!!!) I would say that overall it is a great mower for the money.

Buyers Beware
I ordered this item and received it (Signature Required) Filled it with gas and oil as described in the manual! It took 20 min to start it! After cutting for a 1/2 hour the mower quit, it has no compression and will not start at all. I called AOL. to file a compliant, here is their response.

any hazardous materials--these include items that are gas-powered, use
propane or natural gas, or include a magnet--at any of our fulfillment
centers. The risk of accident is simply too great.
If the lawn mower needs to be serviced or replaced, we recommend that
you work with a local authorized dealer or contact the manufacturer

This is completely unacceptable. The mower is brand new and now I am suppose to make arrangements to get it fixed or replaced when under any other circumstances this would has been swapped out for a new one or I would have received my money back! Now I am stuck with a $500.00 peace of junk. I am really disappointed with AOL and Lawn-Boy!!!
