Buyer Reviews

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Super sturdy, trusting lock.
This lock from Seasonal Outfitters came very quickly, much quicker than the estimated time of arrival. The lock is rock solid, very easy to get on and off of the bike, the included cable is great for locking up the other wheel or seat or to wrap around larger poles and what have you. The only small issue I have is that the included lock mount tends to twist left and right and slide down the bike, but I didn't quite follow the directions exactly and I'm sure if I fiddled with it I'd be able to get it tighter.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - kryptonite lock with cable is just fine
Lock was easy to mount to bicycle; takes a little while to get the hang of wrapping up the cable which I wrap onto my rack

Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - hmmm...
well, first off, let me just say that when i bought it, it was only 27.99, and now for some reason it's 42.99. That's ridiculousness. but anyways, it's beefy, locks and unlocks (kinda important i guess). The lock is pretty heavy, but the cable is not. it looks like some kind of metal rope, but with a thick rubber coating around it. the only problem is that it's so light that i wonder just how much of the weight is just from the rubber? doesn't look very strong. i guess probably just strong enough so you couldn't break it with your bare hands. and as for the lock being too big to mount on your bike, that's not entirely true. yes it is too big to mount inside your frame if you have a water bottle. but, it will fit if you get creative. i mounted mine on the side of the frame. i did it towards the front so my knees wouldn't hit it and the handle bars don't touch it (it actually sticks out past the handlebars but looks like that's where it was supposed to go). if you're like me you're looking at this because the mini ones won't fit on your mountain bike, but this one does just fine. if the lock was 2 inches shorter and the cable was two feet longer it would be perfect. but wait till it goes on sale again. and the seller got it to me right away with free shipping. i hate buying anything on amazon that isn't coming straight from amazon themselves, but i don't regret this one.

Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - great lock
Great lock and cable combo, the most trusted brand out there. Not too heavy. The only issue I had was with the frame mount for the U-lock, they give you a rubber pad to place between the mount and the frame, but it keeps sliding out and consequently the mount scratches the frame.

Sports Wear equipment

On paper, the Mio DigiWalker P550 looks to be an attractive gadget for the mobile professional, combining the capabilities of a PDA and GPS into one device. However, its poor battery life and subpar navigation skills tell a different story.

Though it won't appeal to the masses quite yet, the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet is a nice, portable device for on-the-go Web browsing, and it has some worthy upgrades.

Though it has a few design and performance glitches, the Sony Ericsson W300i is a quality, basic MP3 cell phone.

Diesel vehicles have nearly a 50-percent market share in Europe, thanks to tax incentives and diesel-friendly legislation across the EU. Diesels are so passé there that you can buy a BMW 730d and no one will think it odd that your luxury car burns oil. Pull up in a diesel 7-Series in America and people would leer at you like you've alighted from an amphibious vehicle reeking of saltwater and dead trout.

But now, thanks to the oft-reported combo of newly-raised CAFE standards, not-so-newly-raised gas prices, and the 50-state diesel engine, GM, Ford, and Chrysler are about to dip more than a hesitant toe into the diesel game. Chrysler offers a diesel in the Grand Cherokee, but soon all three automakers will offer diesels in their best-selling lineups of light trucks -- the Dodge Ram 1500 is expected to offer a 50-state diesel after 2009. Light trucks are being used to lead the charge since those buyers stand to gain the most with the least amount of (perceived) sacrifice.

Diesels currently have 3.2-percent of the American market. Some estimates put them at 15-percent by 2015. That's a huge leap, and diesel still has plenty of hurdles. Diesels will come with a cost premium over gasoline-engined cars. That should be easy enough to conquer -- incentives and some quick cost and longevity calculations should convince people of the benefit. The real hurdle is the nagging issue of perception. The plan will probably be to attack that with a price that makes the proposition unbeatable. Said Chrysler's director of environmental affairs, "If it's priced right, we can sell diesel here. Diesel can give you an immediate poke in fuel economy -- 20 to 40 percent. Not many technologies can deliver that today."
