This flashlight puts out an incredible amount of light...nice even white light that's blindingly bright! Multi-LED flashlights like this should be thought of more as a lantern for illuminating the area immediately around you rather than a spotlight - It's not for putting a focused beam on an object 100 feet away but for almost all home and auto purposes I can imagine using it for, it's great!

To present a balanced viewpoint, I had gotten a second one to give to my dad and I had exactly the issue that was described by a previous reviewer where the retainer ring came out when loading the batteries which allowed the contact strip to come out of its groove and then crumple up rendering the flashlight useless but I just exchanged it. Just be a little careful when putting the batteries in and this shouldn't happen (and you won't have to replace the batteries very often anyway).

Customer Rating: - Great flashlight, but NOT NECESSARILY BLACK
I've tried 3 different brands of these small 9 LED flashlights, and this one is definitely my favorite. It has the best grip and push button mechanism. I use it primarily for reading in cafes, bars, and other dimly lit public places. Would have given it a five star rating, but detracted one star for absence of color selection. The photo shows a black one. I ordered two, and received one red and one yellow.

Customer Rating: - Obviously a valuable flashlight...
Otherwise someone wouldn't've stolen my first one. I bought another one to replace it. Yes, it's that good...even handier than the Maglites I own. That should say something. Losing this puppy was just about as bad as sensory deprivation, so once another one got into my hands, it was like the world was right once more. Unlike $3 Chinese LED flashlights, this has good construction, precisely-aimed LEDs, Duracell batteries and a sealed, rubber housing. There is not a single fault with this flashlight and thus I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Customer Rating: - The little light that could.
A nice "small" sturdy flashlight for the glove-box or night stand. I have three of these myself, and gave several away as gifts and stocking stuffers. A great "emergency light" you can carry in your pocket.
I did incurr a problem in two flashlights with the battery holder as the contacts could be better designed as in my other LED flashlights.
The light is bright with the 9 LED's, and the switch (button on end) is strong and does not easily turn on by itself so the batteries will not be run down when you need light.
