Top of the line HVLP
Just bought this Fuji Mini-Mite 4 from Amizon and I have to say it is one of the nicest HVLP sprayers I have used, and I have used quite a few from top known names to cheap ones. I have been a painting contractor for over 25 years and I am very picky about quality and price. I had never heard of this brand, Fuji, before and was a little hesitant at first, but after reading the reviews I took a chance, and it paid off, I am very happy I did not spent another $500.00 for a well known brand name, this sprayer is nothing but high quality and performance. It is very easy to use and setting your controls is thoughtless, and as far as the noise goes, don't waste your money on the quiet version unless your in a small shop where a little noise would bother you, to me it was rather quiet, but I use it outside mostly. You can't go wrong with this sprayer, even if cost a few hundred more bucks I would have still been thrilled with it.

My first spray system - great results!
This product (Fuji Mini-Mite 4 stage HVLP) is my first spray system of any kind. I just used it to spray polyurethane on stained wood (maple). The results are great - much better than anything I could have done with a brush. I did purchase the accessories recommended by other reviewers (6-Foot Flexible Whip Hose #2049F and Mini-Cup 3-Piece Set #9080). The gun came with a #4 air cap and I purchased a #3 also, which should cover my spray needs for some time.
The learning curve was not long. I got the hang of using the gun and adjusting the flow pretty quickly. I was not looking forward to clean-up, but that was easy also. (Save your lungs and get a good respirator.)
I am very happy with this spray system and look forward to my next project.

Tools make the job
After using an "alleged" HVLP cheapo and getting the results I paid for. I did a lot of research and decided to invest in a Fuji. It has lived up to it's billing in every application. I have sprayed everything from latex to a combo of stain, sealer and varnish with amazing results. All of my work is done in the field and this little unit gives me spray booth results. It's worth every penny I paid for it.

Fuji Mini -4
I purchased this unit and read the advice of other reviewers. I got the 6' whip hose, mini 3 cup set and the 3mm nozle set. I've found the spray gun to lay down a great finish and it only takes about 20 minutes between getting the gun out and final clean-up. Also, get some mesh/metal screens for the fluid uptake from the cup (it keeps the unmixed solids out of your finish). Great HVLP results!
If you're trying to decide between the Q4 and the Mini 4, I'd recommend getting the Mini. They are both 4 stage turbines. The Q4 has a patented baffle system on the unit to quiet it. But, when you spray, there's a 25' hose (+ the whip hose) between you and the Mini 4 unit. Its about as loud as a shop vac - which is quiet from 25' anyways. Save yourself the $200, over the cost of the quieter version.
FYI - Don't spray an oil based finish inside a home (without an explosion proof exhaust fan - oil based finishes will cause a flash fire/explosion in your garage with an electrical spark or the pilot light of a furnace!).
