Does what it's supposed to and without complaint
I've owned this dishwasher for almost one year, and it has been problem-free. Until I settled on one brand of dishwashing detergent, I was getting uneven cleaning results, especially with wine glasses on the top shelf and with utensils. I haven't had a problem with residue in a few months.
The utensil basket is conveniently mounted on the inside of the door and can be removed and opened easily (although I wish it had more room). The wire racks are sturdy and can accommodate plenty of dishes, glasses, etc.
While this model still runs much more quietly as our old bottom-of-the-line Maytag, it's not as quiet as I liked, but at least I can have a conversation with my wife while it is running.
The buttons on the front are covered with a plastic membrane, which makes cleaning the outside of the unit a breeze.
Installation took me about an hour and was relatively simple. I decided to buy a three-prong plug and electrical cord and plug it into a 20 amp outlet rather than hardwire it to the circuit.

Maddening product
Bought this model based on a Consumer Report recommendation. From the start, there was a problem with the soap dispenser and umpteen service calls were made. Just before the warranty expired, Whirlpool agreed to replace the unit. Within three months, the replacement began to exhibit exactly the same behavior. I didn't have the strength to start talking to Customer Service again and we are living with this dreadful unit. (In over 12 years with a GE model, we did not have a problem until it died.) I absolutely recommend that you spend your dollars elsewhere.
