My requirements for this tool are simple: help me clip around a few obstacles in the lawn after mowing, without firing up a gas trimmer or dealing with jammed or empty string spools. Just give me some hand shears that I can operate without stooping or crawling on hands and knees. I was surprised that this was the only product I could find that fit the bill. It works as expected. I would have been willing to pay a bit more for something sturdier and with longer blades, but this seems to work. It's definitely not for heavy duty use.

I received the Fiskars Long Handled Trimmer very fast and that same evening I trimmed around all the flower beds in my backyard. They are wonderful and I will be using them for a long time to come. I grew up with one of these and was afraid they didn't make them any more. I'm not a power tool person and these are an improvement on an old classic. The swiveling head and the locking mechanism are features I didn't expect to have. So very happy that Amazon.com sells these!!
