Used for a firewood stand
I bought these instead of forking out 200.00 for a steel firewood bin. Unless you have a keen mind for 3D, it will be hard to explain my problem. I had anticipated a 12 foot firewood bin, with the support 2X4s on end so that the grain of the wood on the base would support the firewood. These aren't designed to allow for that... they are designed for the 2x4s to be flat, which will warp and break unless they are flat on the ground, which defeats the whole purpose of trying to get the wood up off of the ground. I ended up having to cut two of the brackets in half and screw them to the uprights to get them to work. They may be fine for a garage storage shelf, but there are better products out there for an outdoor firewood bin that will be subjected to the weather.

Building shelving couldn't be easier
The hardest part about building these sturdy shelves is choosing how high to build the unit. Otherwise easy as pie if you are comfortable with a circular saw.

I bought 6 boxes of these sets.........
I love them, but in stead of using 2x4's for the shelfs, I upgraded and used 2x8's instead, they are stronger and it was a little cheaper. I sided my whole side of garage with them, and still had some pieces left over. The side I did was like 17 feet long. I got rid of a lot of junk as well as organized the rest. I was able to shelf over my Shopsmith Mark V and it fits right in the hole I made for it. I'd get more if and when the need arises. You should too! If you used real nice wood and took the time to sand and stain, this could make a niece inexpensive entertainment center for your home theatre system too.
