Editorial Product Review:

Amazon.com Product Review:
The Accuscribe from FastCap scribes cabinet trim, architectural moldings, countertops, tile and more for cleaner cuts and more creative freedom on a wide variety of projects. The Accuscribe maintains consistent scribe offset and stays parallel to surfaces as you mark out the pattern or cut-- a great feature for installing splash guards, cutting tile, and designing floors. The device's adjustable grip locks standard-size pencils tightly in place. The AccuScribe is made of heavy-duty, indestructible polymer for years of reliable use. The unit's articulating pencil head increases flexibility for scribing over a wide variety of materials and textures. A removable compass point makes it easy to scribe circles and circular patterns. A handy storage clip for the compass point ensures optimal safety and longer compass life. The AccuScribe's non-rocking bottom keeps the unit flat against the surface or wall for flush contact with the pencil tip. The tool collapses to a compact size to take up less room in the toolbox. The Accuscribe measures 5-3/4 by 4-13/16 inches when fully extended (length by height). --Brian D. Olson

Buyer Reviews

Customer Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - I tossed mine
Cheap plastic, doesn't hold adjustments, clunky and awkward. I bought it initially for the broad, flat surface, thinking this ideal for wall and floor scribing, and because the brass parts made it appear to be better than it is. I found it almost unusable, tried to get used to it for a while and finally tossed it. 2 stars for minimum usability. I recommend the tried and true compass or dividers. If you want a high-quality set, try West Marine - they have quite a variety for charting purposes. Stay away from the cheap stamped steel school models, and don't buy a set without a lock. A very good set is the C.S. Osborne model carried by Woodcraft. It is heavy-duty and has a nice fine adjust mechanism. Pricey at about $65-$70, but will last a lifetime.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Tight scribes
Good for scribing trim to walls. Flat bottom for accrate scribes. Must have for stain-grade trim.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - New Model Improved
This Product has been improved and the nuts will now hold it in place. If you have one that does not work contact FastCap [...] and they will replace it or take care of you in a way that will satisfy you. Their customer service is unbelievable! If there is a way they can improve it let them know, they'll listen!

Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Nice tool
The joint makes it easy to work with. The only thing I would like to see changed is the pencil holder. I would like to be able to use a mechanical pencil or pen. The pencil provided (standard #2 pencil) is the only style that will fit. I'd buy it again.

Wellness and Healthcare Reviews

Usually we're fans of Logitech's gaming mice, but its highest-end G9 Laser Mouse is expensive, overly complex, and lacks the ergonomic thought we've come to expect. If you like to brag about dot-per-inch limits, perhaps the G9's 3,200dpi laser will be enough to sell you, but for the price, we expect the design to match.

Small and light enough for a shirt pocket, Samsung's Helix YX-M1 is a one-stop audio entertainment center with an XM radio, a digital music player, and room for 50 hours of tunes, but it comes up short on battery life.
