There are many times when extra power is needed for your tools or accessories, but none is available. If an outlet is not in reach or plugging into the dashboard cigarette lighter is simply not an option, the Duracell Powerpack 600 is the perfect solution. Brought to you by Duracell and Xantrex, an innovator in portable and backup power products for nearly 25 years, it comes with a multitude of safety and emergency features, and is powerful enough to start your car and robust enough to provide portable power for small appliances.

The Power to Get the Job Done Safely
The heart of the Duracell Powerpack 600 is a sealed, non-spillable 28 amp-hour AGM battery. It can be safely and conveniently recharged from any household AC outlet or DC cigarette-lighter outlet, making it ready to go whenever you need it. This robust battery is tied to a power inverter that provides 600 watts of power to its three grounded AC outlets and one DC socket. Multiple outlets give you the flexibility and convenience to operate several appliances at once, while the 3-digit barragraph LED indicator dynamically monitors the Duracell Powerpack's battery charge level. Internal circuitry ensures long inverter life by protecting against overload and over-temperature conditions. An audible alarm also signals during overheating and under-voltage situations, alerting you to any possible safety concerns.

The Duracell Powerpack 600
provides long lasting on-the-go power.

Duracell Powerpack 600 Protects You On the Go
Duracell Powerpack's 28-amp battery can jump start most 8-cylinder engines with its included jumper cables. A reverse polarity detector further ensures your safety by disallowing power transfer in the event that the jumper cables are connected to the incorrect battery terminals. Duracell Powerpack 600 also provides ample power to recharge cordless and cellular telephones. At the same time, it can operate emergency lights, televisions and a wide range of DC-powered products. A built-in AM/FM clock-radio provides access to news and emergency broadcasts, while the built-in emergency light provides extra illumination to keep you out of the dark and to signal to others if you are stranded.

Perfect for Outdoor Adventures
From remote job sites to the family picnic, Duracell Powerpack's portability makes it an excellent choice for any outdoor adventure. It is mighty enough to run power tools and equipment in the wilderness. The 600-watt power inverter also lets you bring some of the comforts of home to your campsite or outing. Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good machine
Well the first one of these that amazon sent to me died in two days. The charging light refused to go out until the unit was fully charge even if the unit was unplugged, also the reading on the digital readout of wattage was vastly incorrect.
After receiving my second unit from amazon it works as described and I've found that this is mainly designed for light duty applications. Even though it sounds very powerful since it's able to run a device that is 600 watts and all. If you really desire to power something that powerful get a generator or something that holds more juice than this. For the most part I just use this to charge other batteries ie cell phones, laptop, and rechargeable batteries. I charge this machine on a solar panel about twice a week or so. 30 Watt Mono-crystalline Portable Briefcase Solar Panel 12V Charger - temper proof glass
It takes 3 to 5 hours to charge DC with a perfectly sunny day, which could easily give you to time to charge cell phones and laptops and not have to use this machine till the evening in an emergency.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The product you secretly can't wait to use?
When Hurricane Ike took us out in Texas we were without power for about a week. Many others were without for so much longer. I was pretty stocked up on batteries and even a shake light or 2 and a Grundig crank radio. A lot of people in my neighborhood had gas generators and I was tempted to get one also but doing the math - people were spending $50 a day to basically keep their refrigerator running. It didn't make sense to me to spend $50 a day to keep about $100 in food cold for a week. Thats a few hundred dollars a week and you can't really use a generator to run your air conditioner either.

So when I saw this battery pack I thought it was worth a shot. I really haven't had a chance to use it during an emergency but after fully charging it up I checked it out. I was able to run my laptop all night and it still had power left. I was also able to run a few small fans with no problem. The trick here is small - don't try to plug your room cooling Vornado into this, we're talking small appliances.

I think the usage here is like this. If the power goes out, you have a portable big honkin' battery pack you can take from room to room and power stuff. Need to make some coffee, take it into the kitchen and plug in the coffee pot. Need to access your laptop or charge your cell phone or such, its perfect for that.

I think it'll be great for camping also. It comes jumper cables and claims to be able to jump your car - can't attest to that but nice to know I have the option. It also comes with an adapter to charge from the wall and also to charge FROM your car. Thats a pretty neat idea. During Ike, I was charging phones & such in the car as we went to the store and one errands. Not sure how long it would take to charge but take this with you and let it charge up while you are out and about.

All in all I secretly can't wait for an excuse to use this product. Its solidly built, has a light and a radio built it. The light should be LED really, but its the old fashioned bulb kind.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great product, great shipper
The product is great. I've charged and used it and it's been a blessing. I needed it for my sleep apnea and my CPAP incase the power goes out. This battery will keep my CPAP running for 2 full nights before needing a recharge. It's the best. The shipper was very fast, shipped in 1 day. Thanks.

Customer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Duracell DPP-600HD Powerpack 600
Used this product on a 7K cross country trip. It let me down a few times and saved the day once. First, the battery life is not as much as advertised. It must be kept fully charged at all times to be effective. I had to use the "Jump Start" feature once and it came thru like a champ. I was using the unit primarily to power a portable cooler (Coleman AC/DC unit). The Duracell could not power it all night, it was dead by morning, less than 10 hours. Even charging it all day in the car (DC input) did not bring it up to a full charge. To fully charge it via AC takes over a day. I can see using it for small operations, but it will not sustain any long periods of use. For a home power outage it can give you enough power to use your lights for a while but try to watch TV with a light on for more than 30 mins and you will be out of luck..

Jewelry Reviews

Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.

November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.

Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.

The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.

Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.

The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.

The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.
