I got this as a gift for an 8 year old. He put it in his pocket and takes it everywhere. He was fascinated at the close-up look it provides of the many things in his world that he is discovering.

Having a fold away magnifier helps keep it safe from all the other things boys put in their pockets.

I like that the bulb won't burn out and that the lens is unbreakable. It has a belt clip but he likes to keep it in his pocket.

I'm so glad I got it for him!

Customer Rating: - Great little gadget
A good magnifier. Well suited to look at small print menus, old coins and stamps. The light is quite bright and very white (rather then the yellowish cast I've seen in other illuminated magnifiers).

Two minor issues lose it a star.
1. The magnifier spring is very strong. It really flied into position and might cause a bruise if it you have it in the wrong place.
2. The clip is attached to the battery cover, The battery cover has come off a few times. I'd put a piece of tape to hold the battery cover.
