DEWALT DW9216BP Charger with 18-Volt Battery Dual port charger with 18V battery Charger with 18-Volt Battery

Amazon.com Item Description:
The DeWalt 7.2- to 18-Volt Dual Port 1-Hour Charger With 18-Volt Nicad Battery Set powers the entire DeWalt line of 18-volt tools, letting users run multiple tools off the same battery pack. The NiCad battery provides up to 40 percent more run-time than standard batteries, and the dual port charger charges all DeWalt 7.2V - 18-volt batteries (except Univolt batteries), so users need only one charger for multiple cordless products. With this kit you can charge two batteries in 1 hour or less, minimizing down time. The three-stage charging system provides maximum run-time and extends overall life of the battery, and the battery's thermal protection system prevents charging batteries that are too hot or too cold, which would cause damage to the battery and a loss of run-time. The LED indicator offers 5 diagnostic levels to communicate battery charge status: charged, charging, power line problem, replace pack, and battery too hot or too cold.

Buyer Reviews
Average Buyer Rating: out of 5 stars

Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Convenience is always a factor.
Pass-thru plug is unnecessary but a great feature. Being able to charge more than one battery at a time let's me daisy-chain through my tools as I need them. I've had charged batteries for each tool I need, as I need them since I got this.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - charged and ready
With 2 port charger I can keep working. 1 in use, 1 in the charger-charged and ready, 1 charging.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Works Great
The dual port makes it easy to have charged batteries when I need them. With both a handsaw and drill/driver I can use up two batteries in a big hurry. Now I can be charging two batteries while I am using two others. I don't totally understand the Automatic Tune-up Mode, but anything to extend the charge or life of these expense batteries is good.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - DeWalt
The standard in construction ! Double hole charger does it all...re-conditions the cells too...the plug has an outlet on the back of it so you don't lose an outlet opportunity at the job !

Garden Shopping and Outdoor Reviews

Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.

November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.

Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.

The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.

Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.

The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.

The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.
