Simple. $56 as opposed to $90 at Home Depot. Same DeWalt battery drop shipped to my door for $56. Works fine.

I have had my hammer drill for over 10 years and this is the second new battery I have ever had to buy. How many companies keep their products compatible to each other as their technologies evolve? I started with NON-XRP batteries, but when they came up with this greatly improved battery I did not have to go and buy a new drill to enjoy their breakthrough.
