Customer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Nice Handheld Shower From Delta At The Right Price!
Delta Four-Spray Hand Shower, White #75400WH

I've had several hand held showers over the past year, and can say that this guy is pretty good. Delta is a nice brand that generally honors their warrantees, though component parts do sometimes need to be replaced. Overall, despite some misses, I still like this shower better than the handheld from Pollenex. Pollenex DM209CRX Hand Held Shower Head with 4 Settings, White and Chrome Finish

The list price of $20 is pretty standard for an entry level device, and as of the time of this review the product is selling for $18. It makes sense to look at the shower heads by Waterpik, particularly the TRS559 which is highly rated. Waterpik TRS 559 Hand-Held Five Mode Showerhead, Brushed Nickel It's a few bucks more than this but has a more solid build.

Unlike the Pollenex, this guy has a stronger base and is made out of a slightly better plastic. The fittings and connectors also seem better, but as with any plastic fixture it's important not to over-tighten the connections. Another plus is that the hose seems to curl much less than on the pollenex.

As for the four adjustable flows, they are pretty standard. There is also a single stream model from Delta Delta Full Spray Hand Shower with Pause Control, White #75110WH, but at about the same price I like the versatility of this.

The actual head on this guy isn't as nice as the other one, and as with all Delta fixtures in this range water pressure is severely curtailed via flow control. Still, for a low end moderately priced fixture, you could do a lot worse than going with this guy.

Do your research and give this guy a shot.

Wellness and Healthcare - Reviews

Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.

November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.

Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.

The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.

Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.

The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.

The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.
