I don't think I've ever been so diguested with a product before but there is a first time for everything. It's a piece of crap that fell apart and is harder to even try to put together than it should be.

Very nice filter. You need to tighten the attachment to the faucet well. If you don't have strong hands, you might need to gently use some pliers. Filter works great.

A month ago bought the bigger unit for my mom (10000 gallon rating). Was so satisfied bought this one for myself. A warning about the portable filter -- I mistakenly thought it was one of those sports bottles attachments. No, it is basically a mini Brita pitcher.

I experienced no leaks attaching it to the faucet, hand tightening was enough. The only hitch was it was very difficult to push the spout into the body of the unit -- if you are a woman or elderly, you may need help attaching the spout.
