Editorial Product Review:Item Description:A 3-pack of Brita water filter cartridges for Brita Pour-Thru Water Pitcher models
Amazon.com Review:Brita's popular water filters keep great-tasting water at the ready for a fraction of the cost of bottled water. This set of filters makes sure that a replacement is on hand at all time, so that you can continue to drink and cook with water free from metals, sediment, and chlorine flavors. The filters also soften hard water and make tap water taste naturally good.

No problem with these filters; better price than in other stores
Of course if Amazon goes up on the price or takes away the free shipping it wouldn't be worth buying them here, just get them in your local store. I was a little worried that if I paid less for the filters that they would some how be faulty or defective but that wasn't the case. I've used one of the three and it works just as well as the others I have purchased in Walmart or Target. Change it at least every two months or more if you go through pitchers of water. My Brita pitcher has an indicator on it that helps me know when to change it but after awhile you can taste the difference and know that it's time to change filters. The filters I bought through Amazon seem to be lasting just as long as the others did. No complaints. :-)

You can use it up to 40 gallons - if you have the normal pitcher, that's 106 times
Think about it. If you're using a filter for 106 times, you're getting your money's worth. Or you can just use it until your tastebuds decide the water is gross again. Remember, it's a water filter, not a purifier. It says so on the package. All it's supposed to do is remove the things that aren't tasting good, and copper too.
There are other brands that you can use first to filter the water that take care of all the other things, like asbestos and stuff. I use one of those, and then to take care of lead, I end with the Brita pitcher. The one that takes care of many more things than Brita does is called ClearH20, and the only thing that it doesn't do is copper. Brita does.
Using both of them makes the water taste terrific. I'd never use Brita or the ClearH20 alone....both of them together create awesome flavor....but either one by itself, the water tastes poor.

Works, as expected
I've purchased these filters at local grocery stores for awhile, and finally decided that I could probably get a lower price from Amazon.com, which was indeed the case. I have to give the product 4-stars, because I still think that they are WAY overpriced for what they are. Let's face it, it's a piece of plastic filled with granulated charcoal. How expensive could that be to produce? Not very. Nonetheless, I have still kept using them over all these years. Though I know that regular tap water should be fine to drink, I still feel better using the filter.
