Customer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Performs nicely--for a while.
Then, N. Newton is right on the money: The plastic threaded adapter just isn't cut out for more than a few months of service before it just gives out. We purchased this on-tap model so we didn't have to take up valuable space in our then-smaller refrigerator.

However, the Brita unit sprays or leaks (or both)!, but the worst thing is that it eventually required PLIERS to turn the little handle from filtered to unfiltered water (you can't run hot water through the Brita so banish any ideas of washing dishes with filtered water.

We're not buying another of these--we're going back to the refrigerator pitcher model.

Customer Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - seems poorly designed and falls off
This filter works well...for a short while. But it seems that the plastic of the mounting collar is inadequate over time to hold this filter in place. Even when put on properly and carefully it eventually loosens and needs to be put back on. After doing this over and over the thing doesn't hold at all. The directions are very clear not to over-tighten and not to use pliers...all of which I followed carefully. Why isn't the mounting collar made of a more substantial material and with enough threading to really hold the filter in place for a good long time? I've written to the company with my feedback...no response. My advice...don't waste your precious money on this unless they improve the design.
