Amazon.com Review:
Featuring an ergonomic handle and smooth lines, Braun's 1,500-watt electric water kettle handily sits on a separate heating element. When water boils--one cup takes only 70 seconds--it's a relief to pick up the kettle and pour without worrying about the plug dragging behind. Once the kettle is removed from the base, it automatically turns off for safety. This good-sized kettle heats up to six cups of water, making it ideal for small meetings at the office or to quickly heat up water (and water only, please) at home. It has an anti-calcification filter to help keep the water tasting clear and clean. --Dana Van Nest

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Braun WK200W Aqua Express Electric Water Kettle
I am extremely pleased with my purchase, having previously used the same product/model for seven years until the on/off switch wore out. I use the item throughout the day for tea and coffee and when I want instant hot water. I was most fortunate finding it on the amazing Amazon site. Thank you for the opporunity to share my opinion. Richard K.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great kettle
Bought this kettle for my mom- she is very happy with it. Another great Braun design and quality. Should last forever.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Do yourselves a favour and buy an electric kettle people!
I had one of these Braun kettles in Australia - I liked it so much that I bought the same kettle when I came over to the States. All my American friends quiz me on this strange appliance in the kitchen;
"What is that?"
"Why it's a kettle of course."
"What's it for?"
"To boil water. Every house has one in Australia and the UK."
"Why don't you just use the stove?"
"Cos it takes forever!!"
I've used many kettles back home; this one is definitely the best I've ever owned. Very fast boilup. Automatic off function so you can't boil it dry. Light weight and cordless. Look no further - 5 Stars.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Pricey but well worth it
This cordless electric kettle is great. It holds a large volume of water but heats the water quickly. It also has a convenient auto-off feature that makes me feel confident that my office mates won't accidentally burn down our office if they forget they turned on the kettle. It also has a clever design that hides any extra cord underneath the base. Tea at the office has never been so easy! Small detail: the kettle that arrived is all white and does not have the black handle as shown in the photograph.

Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.

November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.

Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.

The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.

Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.

The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.

The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.
