Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Handy tool
Light and Easy to use. Cuts cedars and other bushes with easy. No cords to fight or cut thru. Never had a problem with any of my Black and decker tools. Batteries are all interchangeable so you have the option of buying an item without battery if have them already

Customer Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - small stuff only
works fine on small hedges.
freezes on anything larger than a pencil size. It is easy to free up-but what a hassle!

Customer Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Dissapointed
I recieved this hedge trimmer today. Put a battery in it and began to trim small weeds along my grass line. I went about 30 feet and the blades locked up and then the hedge trimmer began to smell of melting wires and then the unit began to smoke.I had to remove the battery because I thought the unit was going to catch on fire. I tapped the blades and replaced the battery. I started the unit in my garage to try it. The blades then started fast and then slowed down and began to smoke again. I wasn't cutting anything very large in diameter and of soft material. I'm sending the trimmer back for a replacement and hope the first one was defective. I have another Black and Decker hedge trimmer 14.2 volt which works ok but I thought I'd try the bigger volt and heavier model. I'm really hoping the next one is ok.
I RETURNED THIS TO AMAZON ON OCT 18 2008 FOR A CREDIT. ITS OCT 30 2008
AND I HAVEN'T RECIEVED ANY CREDIT YET . I CAN'T FIND A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL AMAZON TO FIND OUT WHY I HAVEN'T RECIEVED A CREDIT FOR MY RETURN.

Customer Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Disappointed
I recently bought the Black and Decker cordless Hedge Trimmer because I was tired of cords and already had batteries from other products.
I was using the trimmer for the first time and for less then ten minutes when it stopped working. I changed batteries and checked the blades. The motor smelled like it was burning. I waited for an hour for the trimmer to cool down but it still didn't work. I called Black and Decker and was told to call a DeWalt repair center several towns away. DeWalt took all my information and said I needed to bring it in for repairs which I did. Now I have to wait 10 to 15 business days for it. Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.

November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.

Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.

The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.

Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.

The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.

The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.
