perfect for lightweight work
This is the greatest thing since sliced bread. The gas trimmer we had was back-breaking to start (I am a woman and these pull-cord things are made for men with more upper body strength), dangerous, stinky, and obnoxiously loud. We would only get it out once a year at most. Now with this, I just slap the battery in and take it out. With a flip of the switch I get about 30 minutes of great trimming. It does everything fine, all the beds and walkways are edged, all the tall grass is down. Weeds aren't going to seed anymore. I can switch in the other battery and keep going if I want, but it is so easy to use for a short time, that usually 30 minutes is plenty. If you try to cut down fibrous weeds and woody stems, the battery will wear down a lot faster and you might get frustrated at the time it takes--not really good for that. It is light weight and easy to use. the edging bar is very handy as a guide--I wasn't even planning on using this for edging, but it works so well I do it all the time now. I haven't had any trouble with the string, it seems to self-feed just as they say it will. I don't think you have to bump it like the others. In my opinion this definitely brings string weeding out of the dark ages. Before I always associated string weeders with the obnoxious neighbor ruining your weekend with loud smelly power equipment. This makes noise, but very moderate and barely noticeable at any distance.

Cordless Black and Decker GrassHog
Item arrived in new condition no long waiting period thanks to UPS delivery. The performance of this cordless weed wacker is mediocre to great! Don't expect to cut down tall 2 foot sizes of grass in one stroke it does great without having to bump and adjust the line. The battery life is also great it will last you about 45 minutes for a battery pack so make sure if you have lots of trimming to do that you recharge the packs overnight. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a cordless trimmer and not a gas powered version.

Trimming Freedom
I got this trimmer for my husband who was tired of dragging out all the electrical cords to do the trimming. It has plenty of power for the job, which is something I worried about in a battery pack. And we got two batteries with the trimmer. Auto feed works well, but does use a bit more nylon cord than the feed as you need method. Ease of use makes the extra cord use a non-issue.
