Isolator Technology For Improved Picture and Sound
Noise is created by appliances and digital equipment, which can adversely affect the performance of your home theater. For example, AC line noise created by your DVD player can cause snow or other image degradation on your television. Thanks to Belkin's Isolator Technology, which utilizes a process called graduation filtration, line noise is separated and contained within each set of the surge protector's outlet banks. This not only prevents audio static and video interference, giving you the best image and audio quality possible, it also help to increase the life of your electronics.

Advanced Surge Protection and Noise Filtration
This surge protector provides 4720 joules of surge protection for 10 power outlets, as well as protection against spikes, lightning strikes, and other power disturbances. In addition to AC outlets, it also provides protection for a coaxial connection, such as satellite, cable television or Internet, with one pair of gold coaxial connectors designed to improve signals and protect cable modems.

The Belkin PureAV Home Theater 10-Outlet Surge Protector with Isolator Technology has a 10-foot heavy-duty power cord with 14-gauge wiring and a straight plug. It is backed by a lifetime product warranty and a $300,000 Connected Equipment Warranty.

Customer Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Worked great for a month, and then went kaput
I liked this thing when I first got it, and hooked all my home theater gear to it just fine. Everything worked until today. Went to turn on my HD-DVD player, and it wouldn't power on. I checked all the other gear, and only my receiver would come on. No power for the TV, Blu-Ray player, DirecTV receiver, HD-DVD player, etc. The lights on the surge protector all indicate it's hooked up correctly too. Guess I'll have to use my cheaper protector until I see if Belkin will send me a new one.

Customer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - image incorrect
The main image is incorrect; no phone jacks in the delivered product. Seems like a fine product otherwise.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - it protects me from surges or power?
i bought this from amazon to hookup my new home theater (panasonic lcd, wii, dvd player and netflix roku). this product is cool because it has lights that tell you if your power is ok and one that shows that you're currently protected. seems like a good quality product and the cord is pretty long (10 ft).

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - So far so good
Nice and large. Whether what is in it is any good? Well that will remain to be seen. I hope it works when I need it too. I didn't notice an enhancement in my tv or stereo or 360 :(.

Otherwise it is a glorified power strip.

On paper, the Mio DigiWalker P550 looks to be an attractive gadget for the mobile professional, combining the capabilities of a PDA and GPS into one device. However, its poor battery life and subpar navigation skills tell a different story.

Though it won't appeal to the masses quite yet, the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet is a nice, portable device for on-the-go Web browsing, and it has some worthy upgrades.

Though it has a few design and performance glitches, the Sony Ericsson W300i is a quality, basic MP3 cell phone.

Diesel vehicles have nearly a 50-percent market share in Europe, thanks to tax incentives and diesel-friendly legislation across the EU. Diesels are so passé there that you can buy a BMW 730d and no one will think it odd that your luxury car burns oil. Pull up in a diesel 7-Series in America and people would leer at you like you've alighted from an amphibious vehicle reeking of saltwater and dead trout.

But now, thanks to the oft-reported combo of newly-raised CAFE standards, not-so-newly-raised gas prices, and the 50-state diesel engine, GM, Ford, and Chrysler are about to dip more than a hesitant toe into the diesel game. Chrysler offers a diesel in the Grand Cherokee, but soon all three automakers will offer diesels in their best-selling lineups of light trucks -- the Dodge Ram 1500 is expected to offer a 50-state diesel after 2009. Light trucks are being used to lead the charge since those buyers stand to gain the most with the least amount of (perceived) sacrifice.

Diesels currently have 3.2-percent of the American market. Some estimates put them at 15-percent by 2015. That's a huge leap, and diesel still has plenty of hurdles. Diesels will come with a cost premium over gasoline-engined cars. That should be easy enough to conquer -- incentives and some quick cost and longevity calculations should convince people of the benefit. The real hurdle is the nagging issue of perception. The plan will probably be to attack that with a price that makes the proposition unbeatable. Said Chrysler's director of environmental affairs, "If it's priced right, we can sell diesel here. Diesel can give you an immediate poke in fuel economy -- 20 to 40 percent. Not many technologies can deliver that today."
